Track Our Progress
Since Amani Global Works began in 2009, great strides have been made in order to provide healthcare to the most impoverished rural areas of Africa. AGW has been recognized by the Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of Congo as an official health structure in Idjwi. Having established political alliances with the two Kings of Idjwi, as well as all village chiefs and influential members of the Idjwi community, AGW has also created strong ties with religious leaders in the region.
With the help of the Student Alliance for Global Health at Harvard (SAGHAH), a comprehensive health survey of Idjwi was conducted in May-August 2010. The information collected has served as a catalyst for creating AGW’s Community Health Model for Idjwi. Over 700 lbs of supplies have been donated, allowing AGW to open Idjwi’s first health clinic in Katonda and create various health programs and projects for the community.
