Our “Teen Dream Team”

Clay Baxter

Clay Baxter, 16 year-old Junior at Darien High School, is our Charter Teen Dream Team Member. Clay envisioned, engineered, and led the construction of Idjwi’s first water ambulance in July. His woodworking skills and drive to make a difference has been instrumental in Amani Global Works’ ability to reach yet another milestone on the island. Clay is on the Darien High School wrestling team, is a life scout, and has received Best in Class honors in woodworking in the Northeast Region for a kayak he built in 2011. Ellen Marlow

Ellen Marlow played the leading role of Claire Lyons in the Warner Premiere movie The Clique based on the New York Times’ best selling book by Lisi Harrison.

Ellen originated the lead role of Jemima Potts in the Broadway production of the Tony-nominated musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. She also appeared as Katarina in director Des McAnuff’s NY staged reading of the musical Zhivago. In addition to making numerous public singing appearances in support of Chitty (including The Today Show), Ellen has performed the National Anthem at various events in Texas and New York, and Los Angeles. She most recently sang for President George W. Bush at a fund raising event in L.A and continues to write and perform music with her brother J.R.

On film, she played young Fiona in Quid Pro Quo (directed by Carlos Brooks, starring Vera Farmigia and Nick Stahl), and has appeared on Criminal Minds, Cold Case, Cory in the House, CSI, and The Forgotten. More about Ellen.

Zach Sang

Eighteen-year-old radio personality and newly crowned columnist for J-14 Magazine, Zach Sang is making a name for himself in the biggest market in the country, New York City. Zach is the host of one of the top radio programs on the Internet “Zach Sang and The Student Body” on Zang Radio, which airs every night from 7pm to 9pm EST. Zach books all celebrity guest interviews and even produces the two hour live broadcast!

Zach has interviewed celebrities such as Miley Cyrus, Nick Jonas, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, The Black Eyed Peas, The Script, Taio Cruz, Sean Kingston, The Cast of Glee, Miranda Cosgrove, Victoria Justice, Mitchel Musso, Ariana Grande, Emily Osment and hundreds more!! Cassidy Reiff

A native new yorker, Cassidy Reiff is a fifteen-year-old at the Professional Children’s School of Manhattan. She started tap and ballet at three years of age and has performed with the renowned American Ballet Theater at The Metropolitan Opera. By 9 years of age, she began singing with the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus and has since appeared in numerous operas. In January 2011, Cassidy and her best friend Abigail Breslin formed their own pop band entitled CABB. Both girls write all of their own music and are in the studio getting ready to release an album in November 2011.

Cassidy was also cast as Piper in Garry Marshall’s new film, New Years Eve, marking her film debut.

Linda A. Sebisaho

Born in the Eastern Republic Democratic of the Congo, Linda A. Sebisaho is a senior at the Manhattan International High School. She has been active with youth communities involved in helping children and their families to receive food, water and medical care in Bukavu, DRC. She has visited many rural places in the Democratic Republic of Congo, including Idjwi, and Rwanda.

A member of her School Human’s Rights Club, Linda always shares her thoughts about the lack of proper medical care back in her home country. She believes that health care inaccessibility is against human’s rights. For this reason, she decided to volunteer with AGW to make a change for her brothers and sisters. Linda is also part of the Community of Sant’Egidio’s Youth Movement, a lay organization involved in peace and justice, present in more than fifty countries.
