Ian is the Founder of Ouchies Bandages, a company which is dedicated to creating products – primarily adhesive bandages – that allow kids to show their style and personality when using products that are a necessity. It only took one meeting with Jacques for Ian to dedicate himself to helping Jacques achieve his goals. As president of the Board, Ian assists Jacques in all of the daily operations of the organization.
Ian lives with his wife and three children in NYC..
Olga Karloutsos-Palladino and Marc Palladino
Olga is co-founder of Blue Dream, an organization that raises funds to support various causes, including the Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons, Children’s Tumor Foundation, and Warfighters Sports for the Severely Wounded Warriors. Olga’s passion for Amani grew after meeting with its founder and participating in a small event he organized in the city. Olga immediately realized she wanted to do all that she could to help Amani Global Works expand its network. She has since organized many events to raise much needed funds to sustain and expand the hospital in Idjwi (D.R. Congo). Olga is a Yoga teacher at Exhale Mind/Body Spa, Ananda Studio (Southampton), Good Ground Yoga (Hampton Bays), and privately throughout New York City and the Hamptons. She is a graduate of Fordham University.
Marc Palladino is a real estate finance attorney at Kaye Scholer LLP. He is a graduate of New York University and received his J.D. from Fordham Law School. Olga and Marc live in NYC with their two sons.
David Evans, Ph.D., AE-C, is Professor Emeritus and Special Lecturer of Clinical Sociomedical Sciences in the Pediatric Pulmonary Division at Columbia University’s College of Physicians & Surgeons and Joseph L. Mailman School of Public Health. Dr. Evans is one of the developers of Open Airways for Schools, a school-based asthma self-management program for children aged 8-11, the Physician Asthma Care Education program, a four-hour continuing education program for pediatricians, and the Creating a Medical Home for Asthma program for improving quality of care for asthma in pediatric clinics. Dr. Evans also serves as Director of Community Outreach and Education for two environmental health research centers at Columbia University,the Center for Environmental Health in Northern Manhattan and the Columbia Center for Children’s Environmental Health. Dr. Evans also participates in the WIN for Asthma program, a partnership between community organizations, New York Presbyterian Hospital,and Columbia University that provides care coordination services through community health workers to children with asthma and their families in Northern Manhattan. Dr. Evans served on the NHLBI Expert Panel (Report 3) on the Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma and received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Behavioral Science Assembly of the American Thoracic Society in 2005.
Mimy is a registered nurse and currently works at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. She has previously been Administrator and Manager of Ifendula Hospital in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo where she managed finance, human resources, development and operations of the hospital as well as initiatives for the community served by the institution. During her graduate studies in the Democratic republic of Congo, Mimy was very active and prolific member of her university where she was the president of Catholic Students and president of Economic Forum. She also co-founded the Community of Sant’ Egidio in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, an international organization dedicated to working with the poor, dialogue and understanding between nations and religions and served as its vice-president. She has been guest-speaker at various national and international events, such as the International Prayer for Peace in Washington, Dc in 2006, the role of women in peace and development in the Great Lake region and Africa.
Mimy holds a License in Economics with major in rural Economics from the Catholic University of Bukavu (DRC) and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in New York. She is currently working toward her Master’s in Nursing Science.
John is the Vice President of SEBCO Development, a major not-for-profit low income housing provider in the Hunt’s Point and Longwood section of the Bronx. He began with SEBCO 20 years ago as a social worker, working with formerly homeless families in a recently rehabbed building. Over the years, he has built up the social service programs within SEBCO and today is responsible for over seeing three different social service programs that reach out to close to 1,800 families per year. His responsibilities include overseeing two family homeless shelters and two senior centers. Under his leadership, SEBCO also runs an after-school program, two summer camps and various adult and children groups. He is also the chairperson of the New South Bronx Halloween Parade, the second largest in New York City, as well as helping to organize the Hunts Point Summer Festival and Fish Parade. Prior to working for SEBCO and in Hunts Point, John was a member of the New York Province of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) for seven years where he taught in Jesuit schools in Puerto Rico and in the Nativity School on the Lower East Side, as well as working with refugees in El Salvador and Brooklyn. He also worked in community development as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines for two years. John has been a member of Community Board #2 for the past 10 years and has served as second vice president. In the past, he was a founding board member of Sustainable South Bronx and has also served on the Board of Interfaith Assembly for Homelessness. He is presently a member of the Community of San Egidio, an international lay community dedicated to working with the poor and promoting understanding among all religions. He holds a Bachelors of Foreign Service from Georgetown University, a Masters Degree in Social Work from Hunter College and a Masters Degree in Anthropology from Columbia University. He is a Notary and a Licensed Social Worker in New York State. He is a single dad raising a 14 year old son, Luke, who both live in Morningside Heights. John speaks Italian, Spanish and a few sentences of Cebuano from his days as a Peace Corps Volunteer. He enjoys cycling, travel and is a member of the community theater group, the Morningside Players, at his coop.
Bill Gottlieb currently manages real estate and other investments through Emeleven, LLC. Prior to founding Emeleven, Bill worked as an attorney at the New York Department of Education where he oversaw the DOE’s technology contracting. Prior to that Bill worked for the law firm of Klein & Hill where he focused on corporate law and technology issues. Bill Gottlieb is a graduate of Clark University and The Cornell Law School.
Sandra Campos is a partner at Cynosure Holdings, a fashion branding and licensing company based in NYC, founder of Mobi, Inc, and board member of Global Colors. Sandra oversees the operations of the brands and collaborations with celebrities on all of CH’s projects (Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Vanessa Hudgens to name a few) as well as retail relationships. She has been launching fashion businesses in NYC since 1988. Prior to launching Cynosure Holdings three years ago, she has served as a senior executive at prominent companies such as Donna Karan International, Polo Ralph Lauren, Nautica, and O Oscar at Kellwood. She oversees all marketing, PR, and social media strategies for each of the CH brands, and is responsible for the same at Amani Global Works.
Colin Rust has a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Chicago and is currently a portfolio manager for SAC Capital. Jeannie Tseng has an M.Sc. in Immunology from the University of Chicago and is an Upper School Biology teacher at the United Nations International School. Both Colin and Jeannie are Canadian and currently live in NYC with their twin boys.
Mimi is a director of Merricat Castle School, program of The Association to Benefit Children. She is in her 26th year at Merricats, first 5 as a Head Teacher. She has served as Chairperson of ISAAGNY (independent schools admissions association of greater new York) for 3 years. She has also served as member of Committee of Trustees of the ISAAGNY Board for 5 years. Mimi graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA in Psychology. She also went to the Bank Street College of Education where she received a Masters of Science in Early Childhood education. She then went on to Hunter College where she received her Masters in School Administration and Supervision. Mimi lives in NYC with her husband and three sons.
Karen is the Chairwoman, Chief Executive Officer, and Principal Shareholder of KAMPACK Incorporated, a leading independent producer of corrugated packaging. KAMPACK, and its subsidiary, U.S. Display Group, employ 400 people at five manufacturing facilities located in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. The company produces a full range of industrial, consumer, and point-of-sale display packaging from 120,000 tons of recycled containerboard each year. Karen previously occupied a variety of positions during two decades in the corrugated packaging industry on the West Coast. A California native, she relocated to New York City in 2001. Karen has, for many years, been an active supporter of the Democratic Party and its candidates. She is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and is a patron of other local institutions focused on the arts. She serves on the board of Eleanor’s Legacy Foundation, and is a long-time benefactor of AMFAR in its fight against AIDS. With her husband Dennis and daughter Alexandra, Karen makes her home in Carnegie Hill.
